Media Services is a partial cost-recovery operation. We are the only full service medical media production facility in the Nassau/Suffolk area. The current rate structure is subject to an annual review by the campus Office of Accounting to assure non-profit compliance. Our unique service offerings present us with both the challenge and the opportunity of working for clients both inside and outside the campus community.

This dual nature has necessitated the development of a Two-Tier rate structure.

Tier One
Applies to State and Research Accounts and reflects recovery of operating costs including labor, routine supply utilization, production equipment upgrades and replacement.
 
Tier Two
Applies to all other sources of funding and reflects recovery of everything in Tier One plus administrative overhead and maintenance & operations.

Rush Rates
Selected services are available on a rush basis. Accommodation of "express" requests often requires overtime, use of additional personnel and/or third party contracting. Surcharges for rush requests help to keep the frequency of this request type to a minimum, allows us to meet your deadlines while at the same time helping to defray the costs incurred by disruptions in normal production schedules.

Off-Hour Rates
Early morning, evening and weekend coverage is available upon request and timely scheduling. Rates for services required during these off hours are 50% higher and are applied for a minimum of 2 hours. Off hour service rates do not apply to academic degree program courses of HSC schools requesting AV services. Course numbers will be required to waive the surcharge.
