HSC Lecture Halls
Each lecture hall has a document camera, VCR, and desktop computer. A touch panel at the lectern allows presenters to control all of the installed AV equipment and lighting in our 6 lecture halls. The lectern PC supports 3.5 inch floppies, CDs, 100 MB Zip cartridges and provides presenters with network and internet access via standard keyboard and mouse. All lecterns meet ADA compliance as the lectern contains pneumatic lifts which raise or lower the bookshelf section to accommodate wheelchair-bound presenters. While AV staff makes regular efforts to educate and train users of the lecture halls, system demonstrations can be scheduled or requested prior to a specific class or event. Projection booths provide three-35mm slide projectors (two dedicated for dual projection and one dedicated for single projection) and a data projector. Full lectern override from the projection booth can be accomplished should the speaker prefer to be relieved of specific program control functions. An additional touchpanel in the booth allows control of all of the installed AV equipment and lighting in our 6 lecture halls.
Please use the touchpanel in the booth to control operation of these projectors.
Never manually power off these projectors.
Also, students or conference attendees may use the booths audiocassette recorder, which receives a direct feed from the sound system, to tape lectures or events.

In an effort to provide limited freedom from the podium during presentation, AV offers a wireless mouse and wireless microphones. These devices are considered optional in our halls. Wireless microphones may be signed out by faculty or staff 15 minutes before start of a class or event and must be returned immediately afterwards. A specific request must be placed for set up of a wireless mouse.
Client supplied PC or MAC laptops may be connected to the installed lecture hall data projector with the supplied VGA cable at the lectern. House internet service will be available provided client laptop possesses a roaming IP. Ethernet jacks at the lectern require a client supplied Cat-5 cable or this cable may be borrowed from AV.
Should the speaker prefer more freedom while teaching, AV can provide remote controls. We have three different remotes which collectively provide full room control. Careful review of speakers expectations is required to be assured that the specific remote issued provides the required support.

For those choosing more traditional teaching devices, all halls have overhead projectors and chalkboards.
The first row of seating in all lecture halls provides space for wheelchair accommodation. Additionally, the first row of seating in halls with fixed tabletops allow for 4 individual oversized chairs.
